Vaca to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN

Well, Wednesday we loaded up the car and headed off on our first family vacation ( that wasn't to visit family...) We took the kids and went to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. Holiday World is a family owned theme and water park. Each area is themed after a different holiday and there is a neat water park as well. The park boasts cleanliness, free soft drinks and free sunscreen. It really lived up to all of our expectations! Our friends the Riechmann's went too! We had a great time and really hope to go again! Next time we would like to spend another day, one day just wasn't enough for the rides and the water park! Our day at the park ended with a German dinner to celebrate Dustin's 30th birthday. Although I did not eat German food, Randy did and having been to Germany many times he thought that the food was great!

Our kids are not strangers to long car rides...We sang songs, and watched movies until we stopped at the Saw Mill restaurant in Poseyville, IN for dinner. After a long car ride we were happy to get to the hotel for the night!
Due to the crazy times zones in Indiana, we were at the park before it opened. Our hotel was in a town about 20 minutes away for the park and the time was an hour later...
Our Family waiting for the park to open!
Jack and Liv's first ride!! They were both super excited!
My man and my little man!
A planning meeting of the minds...
Livy riding the Salmon Run in the Fourth of July section of Holiday World.
While the big boys and the Daddies rode the bumper cars, Livy, Kendall and the Mommies went on the carousel.
Jackson and Braden rode the "Hollidog" Roller coaster. Jack said it was one of his top rides at the park!
Most of the gang waiting to ride the "Freedom" train. It was fun that we could all ride together, and we drove through an area with nursery rhyme characters.
Off to the water park we went, after lunch, the Dads and the boys checked out some slides while the baby girls took a rest. Then the Men hit a few big slide on their own, while we chilled with the kids in the wave pool. We all rode around the Lazy River a few times, too!
At the water park waiting for Daddy! We were starting to get tired and hot...
In the Christmas area there was a great little spot with a few ride that the kids all loved!
Jack and I rode this Moose Track ride together! I was surprised at how brave he was. It was a fun ride for us both!
The rocket ride is always a crowd pleaser!
A tired Momma and Daddy after a fun, filled family day!
Lovin' the Sea Horses...
Jack liked them too, but was getting really tired by this ride!
At the end of the day, we had a great time in Holiday World! We hope to come back! It was a great vaca day!
We then headed to Indianapolis to spend a few days with Grandma Jo and Grandpa Mark...More posts and pics to come!
