Jack and Randy are both really enjoying scouts this year! The Pinewood Derby has come and gone but it was a family event for us! Both Grandpa and our Daddy helped Jack build his car. They all took it very seriously... They spent many weekends working on the perfect car. This year we used a car kit so that Jack could really be involved. He picked his kit, he picked his color and painted his car and he worked side-by-side with tools and all to get it finished. All of his hard work paid off! On derby day the whole family (Grandpa and Grandma included) headed out to the big event. And when it was all said and done, Jack placed 3rd in his age division. So we will be off to the District Pinewood Derby in March to race again!
Working hard!

The Pinewood Derby had different stations that the boys rotated to through-out the morning. This was a lantern craft.
The exercise station.
Here the boys earned a manners belt loop. They practiced formal introductions and wrote thank you notes!
