Fourth of July in the 'Hood'

Our neighborhood does Fourth of July in a big way!!  The morning started off with a parade for kids!  The parade is an annual thing and this is the first year we have participated.  Usually we are out of town for the 4th, and last year Milli and I were in the hospital still.  About 6 years ago we watched the first parade from a window with a 5 month old Jackson.  That year there were about 5 kids on bikes, this year a 6 year old Jackson rode with his sisters and about 40 other kids, parents and pets!  Such a fun time for all!  In the middle of the day we went off to celebrate Reese's birthday, but got home in time to enjoy the evening activities!  Tons of families and friends from the 'hood came out to enjoy food, a blow-up slide, games, tattoos, and an hour long fireworks display at dark!  Somewhere in the middle of the fun a quick storm came through, but it wasn't enough to upset this crowd!  We are lucky to live in such a fun neighborhood!!
Off to the parade!
Ready to go!  Once we got to the farthest point in the neighborhood away from our house, it began to rain...  But it stopped before we were through!
My best girl, I think she is starting to look like me a little!
Picture by Jackson, hence the angle.
Surprising but true I did not bring my camera to the party... So thank you to our Bessamee for these pictures!
The new picture rule is, if you take one good one we will leave you alone!  These two are quick learners!
Oh Sassy!
I am sure I don't want to know what made these two laugh!
Hot and sweaty much?
Miss Milli LOVED the fireworks!!  It was also the latest she has ever stayed up ;)
One more pirated pic from a friend...  Thanks Heather!
